The conductive loop or path, which forms a network of Electrical Components for the flow of current or electricity is called Electric Circuit or Electrical Circuit. A conductive wire is used to establish relations among sources of voltage and load. It consists of a device that's used to give energy to the charged particles constituting the current, such as a generator or a battery , devices that use current or a load that has resistance and the connecting wires or the transmission lines.
There are following five main types of Electric Circuit :
- Close Circuit - The load works on its own in the closed circuit. The value of current flow depends on its load.
- Open Circuit- A faulty electrical component or wire in a circuit or when the switch is OFF it is known as an Open Circuit.
- Short Circuit - When Both the points of voltage source in a Circuit get joined with each other for some reason it is known as Short Circuit. Under such a circumstance, Maximum currents start to flow.
- Series Circuit - When two or more bulbs are connected to each other in a series it is called a Series Circuit. In a series Circuit, if one bulb gets a fuse the others will not work either.
- Parallel Circuit - When two or bulbs are connected to each other in a parallel then it is called a parallel Circuit. In this Circuit, if one bulb gets fuse then the rest of the lights will still glow such as the Rice lights.
However, in simple terms circuits are of three types. The Series Circuit, the parallel Circuit and the Series - Parallel Circuit. It has some components of series and some of parallel circuits. Interior dash lights are a good example of Series parallel Circuit.
